About Debby
I-Chen (Debby) Chiang, L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist in Austin, Texas, with a special interest in complex and persistent health concerns, chronic pain, mobility problems, and neurological supportive care. She has particular training and experience in scalp, auricular, and body acupuncture.
Before becoming an acupuncturist, Debby worked for more than 20 years as a project manager in the high-tech industry. During that time, she experienced persistent dry-eye discomfort and sciatic pain and later experienced significant improvement through acupuncture care with Dr. Wen Tsung-Kai in Taiwan. She subsequently studied with Dr. Wen and developed a nervous-system-focused, microsystem-based approach to acupuncture.
Debby later completed formal Traditional Chinese Medicine training at Texas Health and Science University in the United States, integrating acupuncture, meridian theory, pattern differentiation, Chinese herbal medicine, and whole-body assessment.
Her treatment approach is individualized rather than based on a fixed point prescription. She considers symptoms, medical history, medications, movement and functional limitations, and each patient’s response to care. When appropriate, she reassesses range of motion, walking, pain level, or other functional measures before and after treatment.
Debby especially enjoys working with patients who have chronic or complicated concerns that have not fully responded to previous care. Her goal is to provide thoughtful, precise, and compassionate care that supports comfort, function, and quality of life.
